Export Success to Canada for Massachusetts Supplier

by Food Export | Jul 09, 2018
Started in 2012, Biena LLC from Boston, Massachusetts developed a unique way to roast chickpeas, making light and crispy while still being healthy and flavorful. Quickly becoming one of the “most award winning healthy snacks on the market”, woman-owned Biena snacks grew their domestic presence to over 15,000 retail locations.

In 2017 the Massachusetts Supplier also grew their export presence in Canada. Utilizing Food Export’s Branded Program in 2017 has helped the company grow their business when they used their allocated funding to make product label modifications. Completing this helped Biena earn $300,000 in export sales while also gaining 5 new foreign contacts and 2 new agent relationships. The supplier also projects to complete $450,000 in sales over the next twelve months.

This was the third year Biena utilized the Market Access Program funded Branded Program, they also participate in Food Export’s Online Product Catalog. Food Export is exciting to watch this Supplier continue to grow and expand their international market share!

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s
small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
