Iowa Supplier Expands Export Sales to China with Branded Program

by Food Export | Aug 27, 2018
West Des Moines, Iowa based China Iowa Group has utilized Food Export’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program to help expand their export sales for three years. Last year the Iowa Supplier concentrated on expanding their exports to China since they were already involved in sourcing and exporting goods between the United States and China. They hoped to increase their sales and make Jasper Winery a well-known brand and gift in China.

China Iowa Group utilized their allocated funds to advertise in the market via trade magazines, online branding and produce promotional material. These methods and fund utilization helped the company report $85,000 in new actual sales and project $200,000 of sales over the next twelve months along with gaining 2 new foreign contacts and 1 new agent relationship.

Participating in Food Export programs and services since 2014, China Iowa Group has attended Focused Trade Missions, participated in webinars, the Online Product Catalog and the Branded Program.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
