Japanese Supermarket Trade Show and Food Show PLUS!™

by Food Export | Nov 27, 2018
In February 2018, four companies from the Midwest and Northeast, exhibited at the Japanese Supermarket Show where they utilized Food Export’s Food Show PLUS!™ services.

All benefited from specific meetings with key buyers, utilized a pre-event report, interpreter services and translation of marketing materials.  In October 2018, Cibo Vita received the first purchase order of $20,000 for the sale of their Nature’s Garden Omega-3 Nut Mix and Yogurt Covered Pretzels worth $80,000 in annual business.

According to Metin Deniz, Chief of International Sales for Cibo Vita, “It was a very successful show in meeting the right contacts. As a result, the company will realize a 10% increase in export business for the year from this partnership.  In addition, the Company expects to receive another Purchase Order from a second client as a result of the Food Show Plus services.”  Deniz indicated that there is opportunity in Japan, although the effort in regard to the regulations and detailed documentation is tough and takes time to accomplish.

Cibo Vita is a producer of individual snack packets in Healthy Snack Segment. They have participated in Food Export programs since 2014 utilizing the Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program, Food Show PLUS!™ services, Market Builder and attending Buyers Missions and Focused Trade Missions.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products.
