New York Salsa Supplier Expands & Meets Distributor

In September of 2018, Salsa God, from New York, New York traveled to Melbourne, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand on Food Export – Northeast’s Focused Trade Mission to Australia and New Zealand. While attending the mission they utilized Food Export’s Branded Program services. The Branded Program is a 50% cost-share reimbursement program that helps companies make the most of their marketing budget so their promotional efforts can go further.

Utilization of the Market Access Program (MAP) helped the New York salsa food company secure a distributor in Australia during the Focused Trade Mission to Australia and New Zealand. Salsa God has generated $12,500 in revenue in the three months since returning from the Focused Trade Mission and expects to generate between $50,000 and $100,000 in revenue from exports to Australia and New Zealand in 2019.  Salsa God has participated in Food Export’s Branded Program since 2016 and attended their first Focused Trade Mission in 2018.

Founded in 2016 Salsa God produces a line of award-winning, restaurant-style, Non-GMO Project Verified Mexican salsas including flavors like, Medium Fire Roasted Red Salsa, Hot Fire Roasted Red Salsa, Medium Salsa Verde, Hot Salsa Verde and Smoky Garlic Chipotle Salsa. 

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
