Wisconsin Supplier Finds Export Success Through Private Label Buyers Mission

In November 2017, The Stone Group, an export management company based out of Green Bay, Wisconsin, participated in Food Export - Midwest’s Private Label Buyers Mission at the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) Show.

Throughout the event, representatives from The Stone Group met with 7 qualified international buyers of U.S. private label food products, including a buyer from China.  As a result of their meeting and subsequent follow up, The Stone Group was able to secure a sale of their dried sweetened cranberries to the Chinese buyer worth US$150,000.

Mike Stone, President and CEO of The Stone Group commented, “The (Private Label) Buyers Mission was well organized as always. Good quality customers. Good chance to try and enter new markets with our retail products.”

The Stone Group is a supplier of United States cheese, cranberries and bakery ingredient products for the retail and food processing industries.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
