by Food Export | Feb 28, 2019
In 2018, SONPOWER Industries LLC, located in Ord, Nebraska, in the 3rd Congressional District, attended the Food Export – Midwest’s Midwest Buyers Mission in Kansas City, MO where they met with buyers from Antigua, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates. During these meetings, SONPOWER Industries LLC introduced buyers to their Simply Sunflower Oil.

According to Sierra Forrest, Director of Marketing and Sales “For the past five years, SONPOWER Industries LLC has been pursuing domestic sales, but the Midwest Buyers Mission enabled us to meet with prospective buyers from all over the world in one meeting place. The opportunity to meet with representatives from multiple foreign markets at the Midwest Buyers Mission was an efficient way for us to begin pursuing exporting.” As a result, they have built great relationships with foreign buyers and have increased projected sales of USD$20,000 to Central and South America.

SONPOWER Industries LLC’s Simply Sunflower Oil is all natural, cold-pressed sunflower oil that contains 41% Vitamin E. The Koelling family established SONPOWER Industries LLC and has been farming the same ground in central Nebraska for over 120 years. States. They oversee everything from the planting, growing, and harvesting of the sunflowers on their eco-friendly farms to the cold-press expelling of the sunflower oil and careful packaging of our product.  The Food Export Association of the Midwest has enabled them to pursue new foreign markets which will contribute to extensive growth for their company.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy.
