South Dakota Supplier Utilizes Market Access Program Funds to Gain Exports to Mexico

by Food Export | Mar 26, 2019
Nutraferma, a North Sioux City, South Dakota biotech solution company utilized Food Export - Midwest’s Branded Program in 2018 to increase exports to Mexico. By taking advantage of the 50% reimbursement through the Market Access Program (MAP) funded program the company was able to grow their exports while also deferring the costs associated to the strategy. The MAP funded Branded Program helped Nutraferma gain new buyer contacts and earn $350,000 in sales last year.

Using their allocated funding to gain brand awareness in Mexico by producing and distributing promotion literature helped the South Dakota Supplier promote their feed ingredient products. This translated literature helped the company share their innovative solutions, research and development findings with buyers regarding direct-fed microbials, high-value proteins, state-of-the-art yeast products, bioactive peptides, and phytogenic additives.

Nutraferma has participated in Food Export Programs since 2013 participating in the Online Product Catalog, webinars and the Branded Program.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
