Another Year of Export Growth to Canada for New York Supplier

by Food Export | Apr 01, 2019
The 50% cost reimbursement Food Export – Northeast Branded Program assisted the New York based supplier FOODMatch Inc. increase exports to Canada for the second year in a row by deferring the costs associated with exhibiting at CHFA West. Helping alleviate the costs of the show helped the company focus on finding new buyers for their Mediterranean specialty food products.

Show attendance helped FOODMatch gain 27 new foreign buyer contacts, establish 2 new agent relationships and earn exports of $10,000. The supplier also utilized funds to exhibit at SIAL Paris in 2018 and hopes to be able to report export sales to this market during 2019.

FOODMatch is a producer of Mediterranean foods, specializing in bulk and retail olives and antipasti. They have utilized Food Export’s Branded Program since 2010 to help expand and grow their product in many international markets.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
