Michigan Supplier Utilizes Branded Program Funds to Expand Exports

In 2018, LorAnn Oils, Inc, located in Lansing, Michigan, in the 8th Congressional District participated in Food Export – Midwest’s Branded Program. They utilized their Branded Program funds in 2018 to help offset their costs of exhibiting at trade shows, participating in Buyers Missions and Trade Missions, and other international marketing efforts.

As a result of their participation in the Branded Program they were able to report significant gains in two international markets, Canada and Mexico.  In particular, LorAnn now ships almost daily to wholesale customers in Canada.  During 2018, new contacts were made with over 25 buyers in Canada and Mexico.  The projected sales with these new buyers could add 15% to the company’s export business.    

In 2018 they exhibited at Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria in Mexico utilizing Food Export’s Food Show PLUS!™ services, participated in our Food Service Buyers Mission at the National Restaurant Association Show and the East Lansing stop of the 2018 Midwest Buyers Mission, and participated in the Focused Trade Mission to Shanghai, Chengdu, and Shenzhen.

LorAnn Oils, Inc is a manufacturer/distributor of premium flavorings and essential oils founded in 1962 by Pharmacist O.K. Grettenberger and named in honor of his wife, Laura, and their daughter, Ann. Originally the company started small, bottling 8 to 10 core essentials oils and only distributing to pharmacies.  Fast forward 57 years to 2019 and now the company services over 30,000 customers in 51 countries around the world. They remain a family owned and operated business that is focused on providing their customers with the best quality products and service.
