by Food Export | Aug 27, 2019
In 2018, Under the Weather, located in South Burlington, Vermont, utilized Food Export – Northeast’s Market Access Program (MAP) funded Branded Program in order to gain access to the German market.

With the use of these funds, they attended the Interzoo Trade Show in Nuremburg, Germany in May of 2018 where they showed their treats for sick pets. Under the Weather generated $23,000 in actual sales, made 30 new foreign contacts, and 1 new agent relationship.

Under the Weather has taken part in many other Food Export programs, including Trade Leads and the Online Product Catalog in both 2018 and 2019. In 2018, they generated $60,000 in actual sales, made 60 new foreign contacts and 10 new agent relationships through this program.

Under the Weather is a supplier of pet foods and supplements designed to help dogs and cats when they are ill in the retail market segment. They supply products that may be recommended by veterinarians such as bland diets, dog supplements, cat supplements, and hemp soft chews, each in a variety of flavors.

Food Export uses funding from the Market Access Program (MAP) to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
